2024-05-07 — Over a year ago I decided to give twitter, Tik Tok, most group chats, and some other addicting ass social media apps a cold turkey break. Goal was to free up time and mental bandwidth to prepare for my second child, focus on other projects, trading, my other businesses and brands, health & fitness, my mission in life (helping men etc), writing, research, and more. Pros: -productivity went through the roof -mental bandwidth went parabolic -less decision fatigue 🧠 -businesses blew up 📈 -ton of projects completed -ton of new projects started -trading performance skyrocketed -exponentially more time with family -less time doom scrolling on twitter -less time wasted answering the same trading questions over and over Etc Cons: -trading alone low key sucks (but you get used to it fast) -not posting weekly trading tips sucks (i love teaching & coaching) -not being able to talk shit to dumb traders every week sucks -not interacting with friends on here absolutely sucks -not being able to humble brag about big wins sucks -not being able to bitch and vent about big losses sucks -not being able to talk shit on here during football season SUCKS -having to now readjust to the changes on this app sucks Etc. But overall I’d say the ROI and risk/reward of this experiment was definitely worth it. But anyway, now that I’m finally back on cruise control I think I can justify freeing up more time for twitter again. If I end up addicted to this app again I’ll just delete it again.
